Puerto Rico Disaster Response Trip

June 22 - 29, 2019

On September 20th, 2017, Hurricane Maria (a category 4 hurricane) pummeled the island of Puerto Rico after wreaking havoc through the Leeward Islands. Several months later, areas of the island are still without power and access to clean water with the remote mountainous regions still dealing with hardship.  Woods Chapel Church is partnering with Church of the Resurrection and the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico to assist in the re-building efforts.
Individuals with constructions skills are encouraged to apply.
Ages 18 & up are welcome!
Total anticipated cost = $1250-$1450

$850 trip fee (includes lodging, meals, in-country transportation, translators, and any material used in country).
A nonrefundable deposit of $300 is required after your application is accepted.
Approximately $400-600 airfare per person. (Resurrection will arrange the flight logistics so that the team is on the same flight.)

All funds received are considered a charitable contribution. As such, once they are received by The Church of the Resurrection, there are NO REFUNDS. If, for some reason, the trip is cancelled or you can no longer go, Resurrection will credit the funds toward a future serve trip (for you or for an immediate family member) within 12 months of the original trip; OR use the funds for ministry work with our Methodist partners in Puerto Rico.
If you have questions about the deductibility of trip-related expenses, please contact your tax professional.
